CO₂ SCOPE 3
Committed wholeheartedly to combating climate change, we continuously seek avenues to reduce our CO₂ emissions across our entire value chain. This commitment extends to our scope 3 emissions, for which we have established a Science-Based Target Initiative (SBTi) goal of achieving a 16% reduction by 2030 in absolute terms.
Through rigorous quantification of our scope 3 emissions, we have identified raw materials and packaging (category 1) as the primary contributors, comprising 82% of the total. This realization underscores the significance of our Saint-Gobain Surface Solutions “Supplier Green Deal” as the linchpin of our strategy to decarbonize scope 3 emissions, surpassing even our efforts in transportation, which remain vital for the industry's future decarbonization.
SUPPLIER GREEN DEAL
To drive the decarbonization of our raw materials and procurement (Scope 3), we've instituted the Saint-Gobain Surface Solutions “Supplier Green Deal”. Introduced in November 2022 and renewed annually, this initiative fosters dialogue with our top 131 suppliers on sustainability. Through these engagements, we exchange ideas, align our roadmaps, and collectively reduce our environmental footprint. We are committed to supporting suppliers to provide them resources and capabilities they need to achieve our shared journey to make the world a better home.
